Best Shooting Grounds of Wales

Tell us which is your favourite Shooting Ground?

My favourite ground is Mid Wales Shooting Centre at Trefeglwys, Near Caersws, Powys.

A warm friendly welcome is always assured and the facilities are superb for whatever discipline you prefer to shoot.  Shooting facilities which includes 16 Trap Layouts, 4 Skeet layouts and 18 Sporting Stands set in 300 acres of beautiful countryside.

Fantastic food is served in the magnificent  clubhouse by Rachel and her staff, whilst Rita and Yvonne do a great job of running  the extremely busy office.

The ground is Run by Arthur, Rita,  Jonathan and Liza, and their very experienced staff who can never do enough to make their customers happy.

Although it’s a 170 mile round journey, I always look forward to my Mid Wales outings :-)

Which discipline do you love and why?

My first ever post on my brand new Blog about Clay Pigeon Shooting in Wales.

Please join in and make this a happy space.

Just tell us which discipline you prefer and why?

My favourite is skeet followed by sporting.

To me,  skeet is a great mixture of all types of target your likely to encounter on a shooting ground,  but without needing masses of open space to build a layout. It’s also a great discipline for a beginner to start with, as they get to experience going away, quartering , crossers, and driven,  in a single round.

Most people can get a good score at skeet  but very few can hit that magic 100 straight.  I’ve been close a few times but as yet it evades me, I’m hoping this will be the year :-)
