I’m getting conflicting advice on the suitability of Baikals for clay shooting. Has anyone on here had any experience of using them for clays?
Hi Matthew, I’ve seen people who shoot clays well with a baikal, but most clay shooters wouldn’t use one. Usually Heavy, badly balanced, and ill-fitting..
AS with any other gun, if it fits you then you should be able to hit clays.
But if your on a tight budget, I’d buy a budget end Italian or Spanish Gun which you can pick up for around £200 to £300..
What about Turkish-made guns? Again, I’m getting conflicting advice.
Sorry Matthew, I know nothing about Turkish-made shotguns..
What about Lincolns or Lanbers?
My first ever gun was a Lanber, a great starter gun for clays.
I’ve also been thinking of purchasing a semi-auto or a pump action. Which would you say was best?
Neither, I hate both..
My mate shoots an auto for almost everything and loves it..
As to pump guns, forget it..
What are the problems with pump-actions? I always thought that makes such as Remington and Mossberg were very reliable.
They might be, but here in Britain very few shooters use pumps (not allowed on Clay shoots).
Lots use semi-autos because of the lack of recoil..
