Need the help of a kind millionaire!!!

This old man of 51 whose an ok shooter needs to find a kind benefactor to sponsor him ;-)

My lifelong ambition has been to shoot for my country but I’ve never had the funds to do it.

As I get visitors to my blog from all over the World, I’m hoping that someone will take pity on my plight, with a generous donation to help me on my way :-)

  1. never mind secret emails :-) put the answer on here ken (or angie don,t want her feeling left out)i,d like to know the answer to that aswell.
what do you mean by the dress code blazer etc or skeet vests either way sounds expensive to me!

  2. We all shoot it differently, but this is how I do it shooting maintained lead (or try at least).
High 1, shoot over middle post barrels just under bird.
Low 1, shot between high house and middle peg 6 inches lead.
Pair shot in exactly the same spot (plenty of time).
High 2, shot around the middle peg 12 to 18 inches lead depending on how fast you swing.
Low 2, shoot half way between the high house and middle peg 1 foot lead.
Pair, again both birds shot around the same spot as the singles. I tend to shoot them a bit quicker, same lead faster swing.
High 3, shot just after middle peg, 2 feet lead.
Low 3, shot just after middle peg 18 inches lead.
    No pair.
High 4, shot just before middle peg, 3 feet lead.
Low 4, shot over middle peg, 3′ lead.

Pair, I usually shoot low bird first (most people shoot high first).
Low shot before middle peg just under 3′ 6″ lead, high shot 6 feet after middle peg, 2′ 6″ lead.

High 5, shot right in front of me, 18″ lead.
Low 5, shot 3 feet after middle peg, 2′ 6″ lead.

High 6, shoot right in front of you (or a bit sooner) 1 foot lead.
Low 6, I tend to shoot it far too quickly around 6 feet out of the low house and I don’t see the lead, just pure reaction. Should be shot over centre peg, 1 foot (or a touch more)lead.
Pair, low bird over centre peg 1 foot lead, high bird right in front of you, just under a foot lead (faster swing on doubles).

Low 7, hold gun under line of bird, shoot as soon as you see it clearly, right up the arse.

High 7, shoot between middle peg and low house, 6 inches lead.
Pairs, shoot as singles, don’t rush plenty of time.
Optional, most choose high bird as it’s the easiest of the two.

Angie and others might disagree with me, but it seems to work for me.

  3. WOW and there endeth the lesson!! I’m glad you put that all down. What Ken wrote works for him but everyone shoots differently, faster, quicker, gun down, gun up…so everyones different. The fundamentals are right tho its just down to the individual shooters to make the right adjustments

  4. Dress code is expensive tk but once you have it, its ready for ur next appearance.Anyway isnt that ur normal dress code??

  5. well that certainly cleared that up! i,ll never remember all that i,ll have to print it out and take it with me!

  6. i,m still a bit confused about the dress code bit the way i read it seemed to say you,d need a different blazer ,trousers etc depending which country your shooting in that could be 5 different dress codes or am i being thick!(no comments off you ken)

  7. OH tk, stop being so thick!!!!

Angie was pulling my leg about shooting in Scotland (in a kilt) next year ;-)

You just buy the Welsh uniform and you’ll be OK.

  8. As to the skeet tk, just shoot each stand like a sporting stand..
Start thinking too much about the lead then start missing birds.

Your a fantastic sporting shot, so skeet should be a doddle to you.

  9. I trust you will all be going to the AGM this year and bringing ur mates!!And tk I think u’ll look cool in a kilt!!

  10. i,d told about 6 people about the new dress code before i was informed it was a wind up told them it was offical as it came off Angie.
wctsa web site will be overloaded tomorow with emails! ;-)

  11. whoops!!I’m speechless tk(and that takes a lot!!)I’m sure those you told would have realised……I hope!

  12. Lady???? Whose she then?

If she gets hold of you, it will be your trousers down not your defences ;-)

  13. no their as dull as me it,s spread like wild fire!!
I’ve had 4 people ring and tell me about the new dress code i pretended i didn,t know anything about it apparently it came off ANGIE they said.

  14. Oh My Dear, South Walians are so thick!!!

A long black Cape, and they only shoot in the dark!!

    I despair for tk’s poor Mrs ;-)

  15. Oih!! Dont include me in that insult please!! Back to my original question…are you all going to the AGM?
ps powys have just put their a/r date in so they’re competing this year again
