No comments then, I’m feeling lonely
You feel lonely…..I’m the one who did all the work!!
So nobody has posted any scores from Sundays shoot at Mid Wales the,…..they can’t be that bad surely!!
mid wales on sunday was a very good shoot,
i scored 61, did ok on the hard targets but
droped to many on the easier stands,
don’t know the wining score but would be very suprised if anybody got more than 86-87,
that keith beat me again but only by 2 points this time.
Closing the gap eh??Watch out Keith!
Keith has a habit of winning by the slightest margin. Beating Gwyn by 2 last Sunday and beating me on the last stand at the sporting final. Jammy bugger
)
He’s a bloody good shot who should try for the Welsh Team (even if he is a Sais Diawl
Sais Diawl? Whats one of them then?
89 was the winning score and not by me, i could only manage 70, cracking shoot though!Does anyone out there know how to cure a flinch or dismount i’ve developed one over the last year and it’s costing me at least 10 targets per shoot.
I think we all go through phases of struggling to mount the gun properly..
why oh why do we do it…
Sometimes we pull the trigger knowing that the gun isn’t shouldered properly nearly always resulting in a miss
Incase your still scratching your head Angie..
Sais Diawl is Welsh for Bloody Englishman
Charming…what do you think I am then??Wow 10 targets a shoot. I know maybe a lot of people will disagree with me(and check out the way Martin Myers shoots)but thats the reason why a LOT of skeet shooters pre-mount, saves any poor mounting. Martins gun is only just out of his shoulder so there is some gun movement
it’s not the actual mounting of the gun it’s at the split second i should be pulling the trigger i push the gun back out of the shoulder and shoot several feet over the top.sometimes i manage to not pull the trigger ,remount and still kill the target but more often than not it’s out of range.
Sounds to me like your anticipating the kick (mentally)!
Are you sure your gun cartridge combination isn’t causing the problem?
i think your right it is mental (OR I AM )cause i don’t really notice recoil ,got an isis fitted to gun and trying 24 gram cartridges at the moment but still happening though! yet when game shooting and even wildfowling using 32 and 50 gram loads it doesn’t happen!
To get over this I think you need proffessional advice from a top coach.
Try Brian Clegg, whose website I’ve posted on another post. He’s got fantastic testimonials from extremely satisfied customers.
He’s a really nice guy and will travel anywhere.
cheers for that Ken i have in fact booked to go and see someone in a couple of weeks who specalises in that sort of thing. It’s surprizing how many people are effected by this, failing that it’s back to fishing!
Doctor Ken does it again!!
LOL
I wish I could cure my own problem of missing around 30% of all targets I shoot at
(Sporting not Skeet).
Mind you, as I only shoot about 2000 targets a year, I doubt if I will ever get better.
Someone like George Digweed shoots around 50, 000 to 60,000 a year.. I just can’t imagine shooting over a thousand a week..
What’s it like Angie?
Wish I could Ken…but very difficult round here!
Unless your very rich or sponsored I should think it’s near enough impossible..
Ive just picked up this months Clay Shooting mag and I must say I feel a bit sorry for those shooters who felt they were being hard done by when the Association pulled out from the Pull mag(coz it was costing us 7K a year for 1 page!) and decided to subscribe to it instead…what a waste of money when you see what you get in the Clay Shooting mag, 3 full pages this month! I know a lot of shooters complained about the m/ship fees going up, but hey its still only about a £1 a week!
I really like Clay Shooting Magazine and the Welsh Section is great. My only negative comment is that all the articles are already on the WCTSA website and once you’ve read them on the site I don’t particularly want to read the same features in a shortened format in the mag.
I can see why Dave does it as that’s the only information he has to play with. If only more members sent in shoot reports etc. he might have more to play with.
But its much nicer to see the piccies in a high quality format plus it does cater for those who don’t have the internet…and there are a few! And at least you can take the mag down the pub and show off your photo to your mates if your in there, and if you have any mates!!
I know it’s hard to believe Angie, but I do have a few mates!!!
yes ken you do have a lot of mates,
but you don’t go in to pubs ko’s you
can’t handle your shandies
I’d like everyone to know I beat Gwyn Today at the best charity shoot in North Wales (Llanbedrog Shooting School) by 5 birds.
If I had won the overall high gun I would have donated the money to the charity Like Brian Clegg (our team member) did
Well done Brian.
Now one of the squads who won one of the 3 £100 afternoon flush prizes kept all the money to themselves.
Depriving a worthy cause of £100, the mean buggers.
Who was the Captain of these heartless shooters Gwyn???
WELL SHOT BRIAN,VERY WELL SHOT,
BE HONEST KEN, WOUL’D YOU HAVE GIVEN THE MONEY BACK,
NOW YOU ARE MATES WITH BRIAN,
HOW MUCH DISCOUNT DO WE GET FOR A COUPLE OF LESSONS OF HIM
Gwyn you know me well, of course I would have given the money back
NOT..
I’ll actually ask him if this can be arranged at Llandegla sometime this summer.
It will give you a chance to see the ground for the very first time
whats discount?????
OK, seeing that I had one of the best days of my life with some fantastic shooters at Llanbedrog, you and that Gwyn bloke can have a half price lesson
Correction, Gwyn and myself ‘apparently’ finished on the same score at the charity shoot..
I demand a re-count!!!
We did beat his team into third place overall though
Damn it Gwyn, now that we know that Brian does visit this blog, and now that he knows our dastardly plan to get a few ‘cheap’ lessons from him
It’s so good of him to offer a half price lesson sometime this summer, cheers Brian
Thank you Brian for those fantastic comments,
much appreciated mate
when you say fantastic shooters brian,
does that include (i shoot with both eys closed) ken
it does help when the blog owner can rearrange what i say.
1/2 price for 1 day.
and a leg of lamb!!!
why have i no smilies.
which one was gwyn??? the 34″ barrell guy?
There are no smilies on a blog Brian only on a forum. You use a ; – ) added together to make a wink and a : – ) for a smile and a : – ( when you’ve been had and feel sad
The 34″ barrel guy was Glyn whose been buying a 34″ for the last 10 years
Gwyn was the shortarse with a twin brother
Gwyn, have you a lamb that wants to be a three legged lamb?
will a minted lamb shank do?
Gwyn, I’ll give you a few lessons for a Horse and Jockey Cheesecake
